Born in South Africa, Lexton began his filmmaking career documenting humanitarian efforts around the world. By 20 years old he had traveled to more than 30 countries, filming with over 2 dozen cultures. In 2007 he was honored with the Award of Excellence by the United Nations SRC Society of Writers for his social impact.
In 2017 Lexton directed the indie feature In Search of Fellini, written by Nancy Cartwright and Peter Kjenaas, starring Ksenia Solo (Black Swan, Project Blue Book) and Golden Globe nominee Maria Bello (Prisoners, A History of Violence).
Most recently, Lexton wrote and directed Nomad, the first narrative film to shoot on all 7 continents, starring Leo Woodall (Nuremberg, White Lotus) and Sana'a Shaik (2067), and served as Splinter Unit Director on Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025).
